Perennial plants which flower and fruit once in their lifecycle and then die are known as plietesial monocarpic. Many species from the family Acanthaceae are known for this behaviour. With the detailed phenological observations, we have reported here Lepidagathis clavata as plietesial monocarpic species. This is the first report in the genus Lepidagathis. Long-term monitoring is necessary for this group to understand their phenology.
