Present study reveals a butterfly species Red Pierrot Talicada nyseus nyseus (Guérin-Meneville 1843) for the first time from Arunachal Pradesh as a new addition to the state fauna. This paper will help for more organised and intensive butterfly surveys to understand their status, occurrence, and distribution in the state
