Abstract

There are very few records of opisthobranchs in comparison to the vastness of Indian coasts. The published records are very patchy and limited to a few areas such as Gulf of Kutch, Gulf of Mannar, Lakshadweep and Andaman Nicobar Islands. The present paper records Okenia pellucida Burn, 1967 (Mollusca: Opisthobranchia) for the first time from India on the south-western coast of Maharashtra. This nudibranch is known to be associated with fouling bryozoans Zoobotryon verticillatum.
