Athyrium is one of the largest genera belonging to the family Woodsiaceae. While studying the genus Athyrium from the Dihang–Dibang Biosphere Reserve of Arunachal Pradesh (India), the authors came across the present species, which was identified as Athyrium rhachidosorum (Hand.-Mazz.) Ching, after studying its detailed morphological characters. Earlier, this species was reported from China and Myanmar. However, it was not reported from India; hence reporting here as a new distributional record for India. The detailed morphological description, habitat, and geographical distribution of the species, along with a photograph, are given.
