Records of Jerdon’s Baza Aviceda jerdoni (Blyth, 1842) (Aves: Falconiformes: Accipitiridae) in Andhra Pradesh, India

We report the sightings of the Jerdon’s Baza Aviceda jerdoni from Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary, Medak district and Maredumili Reserve Forest, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The sighting records from Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary confirms the presence of this species in tropical forested tracts further away from the Eastern Ghats. We provide video evidence to of species; presence from both the sites and corroborate the findings with the species’ vocalization.Published
