First record of Prosoponoides Millidge & Russell-Smith, 1992 (Araneae: Linyphiidae) from India, with the description of a new species

Abstract

The genus, Prosoponoides (Millidge & Russell-Smith , 1992)is recorded for the first time from India. A new species namely Prosoponoides idukkiensis sp.nov. is reported from Western Ghats, India.P. idukkiensis sp.nov. differs from other species in the arrangement  of spermatheca. Descriptions, photos and distributional maps of the new species are also provided.
