A new species of Dillenia (Angiosperms: Dilleniaceae) from the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh, India

Abstract

Dillenia tirupatiensis sp. nov. (Dilleniaceae) is described from Chittoor District of Eastern Ghats, Andhra Pradesh.  It is closely allied to D. hookeri, but differs in its leaf morphology, pedicel and bracteole length, flower colour, the arrangement of style pattern, and number of ovule rows in the carpels.
