Ichthyofauna of Dimna Lake, East Singhbhum District, Jharkhand, India

Abstract

A survey of freshwater fishes was conducted in Dimna Lake Jharkhand, India between January 2008 and December 2008. A total of 40 species representing 28 genera and 15 families were identified. Family Cyprinidae, accounted for 50% of all the species recorded. Among the 40 species recorded, 7 are vulnerable and only one is under the endangered category.
