Tetrasporidium javanicum Möbius (Chlorophyta), a rare species recorded from Arpa River in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India

Abstract
The freshwater green alga Tetrasporidium javanicum Möbius (Chlorophyta) has been reported from the Arpa River in Bilaspur, and for the first time from Chhattisgarh State of the India. The alga is threatened due to the destruction of the habitat by sand mining activities in the river.
