First records of two Ginger Lilys Hedychium (Zingiberaceae) species from the Western Ghats, India

Abstract

Hedychium forrestii Diels and H. spicatum Sm. (Zingiberaceae) are new distribution records from the Western Ghats, India, extending their range up to southern India.  Detailed taxonomic descriptions are provided for the species along with photographs.
